Physician Assistant
Norman J. Bizon, PA-C, CTH®
If you ask Norman how he ended up in travel medicine, he’ll tell you: “Medicine is my calling, and travel is my passion”.
Norman grew up in the Great White North of Canada until he followed the sun and moved south of the border to pursue a career in medicine. He graduated from the Physician Associate program at Yale University School of Medicine and worked in various surgical specialties, first in Canada and then at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale.
Norman was introduced to Travel Medicine in 2006 and subsequently earned his Certificate in Travel Health (CTH) from the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM). Practicing family medicine for almost 15 years provided him with the knowledge and experience to treat a wide variety of patients, from pediatrics to the elderly. Since 2018, he has focused exclusively on practicing travel medicine.
At the age of 16, he caught the travel bug while trekking around the South Pacific and has been afflicted ever since. Living in the Himalayan foothills of India changed his world perspective forever. Inspired by the human element of travel and the importance of service, he has volunteered on medical missions in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. His curiosity and free-roaming spirit have taken him to all the continents except Antarctica. When asked about his favorite destination, he’ll tell you it’s the one he hasn’t visited yet.
Norman has more hobbies than time to explore them, but he particularly finds Zen shredding singletrack on his mountain bike or behind the lens of his camera.
