Flights across the Middle East have been canceled or rerouted due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, which has escalated in recent days with both nations launching missile strikes.
Israel’s main international hub, Ben Gurion Airport, remains closed to all civilian flights until further notice. Israeli airline EL AL has suspended all flights through June 19 and announced additional cancellations through June 23 to several destinations including Berlin, Barcelona, Warsaw, Tokyo, Krakow, Venice, Belgrade, and Moscow.
Several European carriers, including Lufthansa and Air France, have halted all service to Tel Aviv and Tehran. British Airways, easyJet, and Ryanair have also suspended flights to Israel. U.S. airlines such as United Airlines and Delta have paused operations to Tel Aviv as well.
Major Middle Eastern carriers, including Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar Airways, have suspended select routes and are rerouting others to avoid affected airspace.
These widespread flight disruptions come as the UK, France, Germany, and other European nations have issued official travel warnings for both Israel and Iran.
If you’re planning travel to the region:
